2016

Welcome to the Wildman Roundup

40th Anniversary Website

Hello All of you Wild Men & Women!

I hope you enjoyed the calendar Shana McCabe made for our invite.

On this site I hope to give everyone all of the info you will need to RSVP. Camping out will be the best way to enjoy this event. As in years past, the time goes by so quickly that  some of us never get the chance to catch up. So if we are all camped and in the same area it will make the most of our time. I will do my very best to make sure that a tent is ready for you. That is if you reserve in advance

The invitation letter outlined what I feel will be the itinerary for the weekend:  A get together campfire (if conditions allow) on Friday night with drinks and snacks. Saturday morning there will be a light breakfast then 'to go' sandwiches for  lunch, as there will be much to do on the Ridgetop.  The day is free form with hanging out, hiking, swimming, golfing, raft trips, or any sidetrips you wish in the surrounding area of gold country. If you would like to go further, like to the Bay Area or Lake Tahoe, I suggest you do that before or after the party. Dinner will be catered around 6-7pm on Saturday night...Ribs and Bar-B-Que chicken with all the fixin's.  A bar will be open for self service as well.

Saturday night the band will fire up at dark and play till you can't dance anymore. â€‹

We are looking for musicians to step in with the band and also want to know of songs you would like to be added to the playlist

Sunday a buffet will be setup about 11. Again hiking and swimming will be be the order of the day with hugs and farwells to new and old friends as the reunion winds down. It is hard to find the right words to say how much the friendship of all of you has meant to me over the years since 1976 (and some of you before that).

I owe a great deal of thanks to my partners and their families, but also to the neighbors who are allowing us to revisit the ridgetop which we no longer own.

Lets talk what this will cost

I don't want money to be a discouragement for any of you to attend. The cost of the invites and the organization of the event will be absorbed by myself. Shana has been working hard with any free time a working mother can give and she should be compensated and will be some how.

  • We are thinking of food costs running about $100 or less per person.

  •           Unlimited beer, wine, and booze will probably run about the same amount.

  •                Camping is free if you bring and set up your own. I will do my best to set up                   and rent/borrow tents for the people not driving or that are not campers. I will              be projecting those costs as RSVPs come in but another $100 for tents, chairs,               pads and/or cots will be my guess for now. Those can be shared by 2 or 4 people or however you wish.

  •              The band will cost $450, and  I am sure this can be raised the night they play,             which is Saturday June 25. Hey I think that is Nancy's and my 44th Anniversary.

  •           A shuttle to and from the airport will be available and may cost you something if        you're a hassle. It is 2.5 hours r/t to Sacramento Airport. On Friday day and Sunday night; a van or a bus will make a couple of trips there.

We look forward to seeing everyone if there are any further questions feel free to contact me or Shana.

In 1996 we started rafting down the American River at Chili Bar. There are now rafting companies locted in Caloma and Placerville that do this. Wine has become a popular sport also. We have our own gold so panning and dredging are options.

Photos?  Yes, we have photos. Videos too! Bring your own to share or contact Shana.
